Our recruitment process aims to ensure we employ the best person for a particular job.

The actual steps in our recruitment and selection process are as follows:

  1. Advertising – electronic, newspapers, recruitment agency
  2. Shortlisting – resume screening, brief phone interviews
  3. Interview – conducted by a Human Resources practitioner and other key stakeholders of the position
  4. Assessment - dependent on the role, this may include one or more of the following
    • Psychometric
    • Computer Skills
    • Verbal/numerical
    • Mechanical comprehension
    • Weld
    • Functional fitness
  5. Reference checking
  6. Pre-employment medical – if required, will typically be conducted by a medical practitioner
  7. Letter of offer (i.e. contract of employment)

 

New employees undergo an orientation/induction which covers the following:

  1. Employment handbook
  2. Generic Site induction
    • Health and Safety Component
    • HR Component
  3. Site Specific induction
